Today’s post is hopefully a money saving tip, for those with children.
Nurofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine and, as such, there are plenty of alternatives which are a lot cheaper.
These alternatives are called generic medicine and can be purchased for at least 70% of the price of the original.
The generic versions are copies of the brand names and have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, side effects, route of administration, risk, safety, and strength as the original.
In other words, their pharmacological effects are exactly the same as those of their brand-name counterparts.
When a product like Nurofen is first launched there are major overhead costs like animal testing, human testing and Research and development. For generic brands, as long as they make the exact same formula, this cost is avoided.
So I would like to recommend two alternatives to Nurofen today.
Easofen and Fenopine are two generic brands of Nurofen that are cheaper and will provide the same pain relief as their counterpart.
Easofen and Fenopine are available from most pharmacies in Ireland.
Finally please trust your pharmacist’s advice prior to your purchases.
